Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik, Croatia, has been made more famous of late due to it being the site of the filming of King's Landing in Game of Thrones. When I visited, 5 seasons of GoT had already aired, and the walled city hosted numerous Game of Thrones walking tours, which takes you to each of the sites filmed in the series. In addition, they had booklets with pictures of the scenes from the show so you could compare real life to the scene.

Waters here were relatively calm, making it a perfect place to kayak.

The main square in the walled city is charming! But it is also nothing but tourist shops. Plenty of local artisans selling their wares. I bought some really delicious, locally made jam to bring home.

During our stay, we rented a gorgeous airbnb suite that overlooked the Adriatic.
