Copenhagen

Copenhagen was our point of entry on this trip to Europe because of the discounted prices flying into the continent by way of Denmark. Plus, I had known that the Danish are the happiest people in the world, and I had read about something known as "hygge", which is the Danish ritual of enjoying life's simple pleasures. Coming from a stressful and hectic career, I wanted to find out more for myself.

Nyhavn is where you see the iconic houses which makes Copenhagen famous.

Not all of the architecture in Copenhagen looks hundreds of years old.

Tivoli in full Halloween decor. Tivoli is an amusement park in central Copenhagen. The park opened in 1843, and is the second oldest amusement park in the world. (The oldest is also in Denmark).

Finally there is a fairly significant amount of night life in Copenhagen. Despite their reputation for being the happiest people on earth, I did not find the locals to be extremely friendly, so I tended to stick with my own group of friends.
