EAT AT SOME OF MY FAVORITE PLACES
Name: REDBIRD
Location: Downtown Los Angeles.
Neal Fraser's flagship restaurant is located at the site of a renovated historic cathedral. From the outside, you would never know what awaits. I came during DineLa, so I only had options from their prix fixe menu. Their kimchee pulled pork on fried rice was amazing.
Name: OHSHIMA
Location: Orange, California.
Omakase - chef's selection sushi. The best omakase I have had in Southern California, and at a very reasonable price! They are only open in the evenings and don't take reservations, so try and beat the crowd.
Name: MARUGAME MONZO
Location: Little Tokyo, Los Angeles.
This Japanese noodle restaurant makes their own noodles, which are perfection. Try and get a seat facing the chef. There is a reason the wait here is so long. I recommend the signature Sea Urchin Udon. I have also had their Mad Tiger udon, which is a cold dry dish with a great flavor.
Name: BOCADILLOS
Location: Granada, Nicaragua.
Serving a variety of tapas and delicious local drinks. Best food I had in Granada! Located inside Hotel Casa San Francisco, it is a cozy venue that's welcoming for solo travelers as well as small groups, with seating around an inner courtyard. Come during happy hour if you can.
Name: LEMONGRASS
Location: Chiang Mai, Thailand.
This is a really busy restaurant right near the Night Bazaar just outside the eastern gate of the Old City. Serving a variety of Thai dishes, including the traditional Khao Soi, a traditional dish only found in northern Thailand. The food here is tasty and inexpensive, but be prepared for a wait!
